Day 14: Spider

Just a simple one today. This little guy's been camped out in our bathroom for a couple of weeks now. I'm glad I live in England as our spider's aren't deadly so I have no issues with him being there.

Day 13: THE ARSENAL!!!

Just had to do this one. Now Tuesday night's game doesn't hurt so much, and despite always being proud of Arsenal FC, a pic of (and admittedly old shirt, with old design badge) needed taking.

We Love You Arsenal, We Do!

Day 12: Experimental

I've only really ever used this camera's automatic shot, landscape style shot and macro mode, so I decided to have a little play. I can't remember exactly what settings I used now, but I quite like the results, I might try again with just a shot of my shoe as I like how deep it is in that bottom corner against the tarmac floor of my daughters school playground.

Not a great shot admittedly, anyone commenting would be fair to point out that my hand is supposed to be the focal point of the picture but its quite clearly not in the final shot. I still quite like the results though.

Day 11: Going To School

So the long weekend is over and its back to school, so off the sprog sets ahead of me anxious to play with all of her friends again, and with this picture I finally catch up with where I should be on this blog/experiment/challenge.

Day 10: Confused lights

Yet another overcast day, this being a Bank Holiday Monday its even more depressing than an overcast Sunday. I think these lights kind of agree too, they appear almost confused by it as its dark enough during the day for them to be on at roughly lunchtime.

Day 9: Blossom Tree's

An overcast Sunday, fun. I was sent out to the shops for random stuff and as usual took the camera with me, the best shot I took was probably of these blossom tree's in the local park. Not the best pic I've taken thus far, nor the most imaginative but at least I got one in there.

Day 8: Dance!

I really like this one, it looks like she's dancing. Admittedly she's not, she's sort of running/skipping and trying to pick up her toy at the same time.

Whoops

I know I know, I've not been posting. I have been taking pictures however and the ones I took for the days from Saturday through to today (Tuesday). I've just not had alot of time to get the computer and update this past weekend, thats my only excuse.

Day 7: Child and Kite

First day in May, and it was beautiful with a cooling and suprisingly strong (at times) wind. With this in mind we took our daughter to the park after school and bought a cheap kite. Fun was had by all (although the Missus got most of her fun out of laughing at me being a bit of a big kid).

Photo A Day: April 2009 Gallery

Yes I'm aware I've only been doing this for 6 days, but if I'm gonna do something I might aswell do it properly. So with that in mind, here's a slideshow with April 2009's photo's on.

Day 6: The Park

A snap of part of our local park today, this is along the cycle path, the footpath is to the right. I love the lighting in the pic, the morning had been overcast with some drizzle but as I entered the cover of the tree's the sun came out from behind the clouds for the first time that morning creating a real contrast between the darkness under the tree's and the light above them.

Day 5: MOOOOOOOOOO!

This is my cow-bank, I don't use it to put money in, it's just for display purposes. I was bought it for Father's Day last year and he's sat on my desk ever since.

Day 4: Ther river, swans and construction

After dropping the Sprog off at school this morning I took a walk along the river to get some photo's, this one is my favourite of the lot, although it is mildly spoiled by the construction works in the back ground.

The missus and I have spoken frequently about moving once she's qualified and has been employed for about a year, this'll be sometime in 2011 so a fair way off yet, but I can't help thinking I'll miss Bedford. It's an odd thing to say, there's really not alot here, but I've really started to enjoy taking random walks, and have found a handful of nice routes that literally start within 10-20 minutes walk from my house. It'll take alot of effort to find somewhere as good as where we are now, with Sprogs school being 10 minutes away, a supermarket across the road from the school, perfect dog walking area's and views like the one in the picture. Not to mention some really nice area's for the Sprog to play when the weather's nice.

Photo A Day 3: Tulips?

These were outside the town hall today, I thought their colours were absolutely stunning. My missus has informed me that she thinks they are a variety of Tulip, I really have no idea I'm clueless when it comes to flowers but I can appreciate their beauty.

I loved the water droplets on them and thought they came out really well in the picture.

Day 2: Hoops

The sky was a beautiful blue today, perfect spring sky. And I thought the chipped and slightly rusted basketball hoop in the park was a perfect contrast for it.

The picture came out better than I had expected it to do.

Day 1: On a line

Inspired by Brandon Klein's Photo A Day, I've decided to join in the fun. Although he's challenging himself to take pics using his mobile phone's camera, the quality of my camera phone isn't so good. So I'll be sticking to my normal Pentax Optio A20 compact camera that I normally use.

So anyway, first pic up is of my black Converse All Stars High Tops hanging on the line after being washed, I just liked the way they were hanging and figured it was a great (or at least decent) way to start this thing off.
